How does this course work?

Oil paint or Acryllic paint?

First: choose the sort of paint you want to work with.

This course contains 3 ways of learning, each specific for the sort of paint you use. What is the difference?

Acryllic

Short drying times, no stinking solvents. Because of the short drying times you have to paint a little faster than you might like the first few lessons. Allthough this paint is often cheaper and widely available, beware not to buy the cheapest you can find. During our course it will be explained why.

If you want to use acryllic paint, make sure you buy synthetic brushes!

Oil paint

Long drying times, sometimes (dependable on the sort of oil paint you bought) you have to wait for days to work on a next layer of paint. This paint is forgiving, if you make a mistake, you can mix colours on your canvas, or even scrape of your mistake and correct it.

There are oil paints available with shorter drying times. Let the dealer inform you about which paint will suite your needs.

Oil on Acryllic

When you use both sorts of paint, you’ll become an allround artist. It is easier to understand the differences in feel and method.

It is up to you… Make your choice.
